16:30 - 18:30 & 19:00 - 21:30 Perfume workshop: make a 'new chapter' scent
In this fragrance workshop by Rui Chang, founder of Tusian, you will explore how scent connects to memory, emotions, and personal experiences. By discovering different fragrance ingredients and learning the basics of aroma blending, you will create your own personal “new chapter” scent.
Inspired by your transition to university life, you will choose notes that reflect a feeling, memory, or quality you would like to carry with you, such as confidence, calm, focus, or curiosity. You will leave with a self-made fragrance and a new perspective on how scent can shape our experiences and sense of place. No experience is required.
16:30 – 18:30 Poetry workshop by Spotlight
Explore playful approaches to poetry in this creative writing workshop. Using existing texts as a starting point, you will experiment with techniques such as cut-up poetry, blackout poetry, and collage writing to transform words into something new.
By cutting, rearranging, selecting, and reimagining text, you will discover new ways of working with language, meaning, and personal expression. No previous writing experience is needed. This workshop is an invitation to experiment, get creative, and see poetry from a different perspective. Hosted by Spotlight, the Queer Study Association of the UvA.
