Speculative futurism: inverting the archive

In a world in which capitalism seems all-encompassing, it can be difficult to imagine other futures than the dystopian image we seem to be headed towards. How do we turn this around? Through speculative storytelling, art can help people imagine futures before they materialize.

In this exhibition we invert the archive: we explore the future, not the past. We leave dominant narratives of the future for what they are and instead fill its voids with our critical imagination. Can you imagine a future radically outside of the boundaries of the present?

We are looking for both new and existing work from emerging artists. We accept all forms of storytelling, among others visual art, sound art, multimedia and digital art, olfactory, gustatory and tactile art, poetry and other written artforms.
