During this workshop, you will paint your own Delft blue tile. Delft blue is a typical Dutch ceramic style with white glaze and deep blue paintings, which has been world-famous since the 17th century. After gathering some inspiration, you will create your own contemporary version of this classic tile: you will paint something personal that reminds you of a place you love or an object that makes you feel at home. We will work with acrylic paint and finish with a glossy varnish for a beautiful end result.
Annick is a master’s student in the History of International Relations at the University of Amsterdam. Outside of her studies, she devotes much of her time to painting. Her love for painting began in her grandmother’s attic studio and has grown into a way to bring social themes, philosophy, and history to life on canvas. In her work, she combines portraiture with storytelling, often drawing inspiration from Greek myths, which, despite their ancient origins, remain surprisingly relevant today.
