Event details of SES x Green Office: Plant Potting Paradise
Date

Time
15:30 -17:30
Location
BG 3
Room
VOX-POP (Ground floor)

Have you ever noticed that herbs are sold in supermarket only in two ways? You can either buy three leaves wrapped in a plastic bag (you’re almost buying more plastic than basil…) or as a plant. While the potted plant might seem the more sustainable option; if not repotted soon after or taken care of properly it will quickly die. In order to do the repotting you’d have to buy a bigger pot, more earth, some tools, when most of us have a 12m² (at best) room, where are we even supposed to store all this equipment?

We want to make planting and keeping herbs (or a mini-garden) more accessible through our repotting workshop! Our workshop will contain of a brief lecture about gardening & tips + tricks surrounding it followed by a tutorial on how to re-pot herbs bought in grocery stores. After all, what better way to learning than putting it into practice!

That’s right, not only are you walking away with knowledge on how to maintain a herb garden. You’re walking away with your own herb in a pot too!

Programme schedule

15.15-15:30 Walk-in
15.30-16.30 Mini-lecture
16:30-17.30 Repotting

Workshop host: Martina Riva

Martina is a media studies student from Italy with a growing passion for plants and indoor greenery. Coming from a family deeply connected to the land, she was inspired early on by her grandmother, who cultivated vegetables for the family, and by her father, who carried on this tradition by working and caring for rented land. Spending time in nature with him shaped her appreciation for the patience and dedication that plants require.

While her family focused on growing food, Martina began her own journey with plants two years ago, choosing to care for indoor plants that enhance living spaces and support a healthier environment. Since then, she has been learning how to nurture them and discovering the quiet, rewarding relationship that develops over time. Through her workshop, Martina shares her experience and invites others to connect with plants, showing how much they can give back.
