Chen Alon will be employing theatre methods to provide participants with tools to address any kind of conflict, tensions and differences that we might experience on our campus. He will be employing the method of the polarized theatre of the oppressed (by the Brazilian Augusto Boal), which he developed with Israelis and Palestinians, with prisoners, asylum seekers, and others.

Chen Alon

Dr. Chen Alon has co-founded the Israeli-Palestinian movement Combatants for Peace with Suleiman Khatib, for which they were twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Chen Alon is currently on UvA’s campus as a Visiting Scholar at the Amsterdam Centre for Conflict Studies. Students and staff alike can participate in this theatre & dialogue workshop.
