Make something new from what’s already there
Make it your own:
A piece of music, a clothing style, an image that stays with you: the things you love and identify with often come from different sources. You borrow an element, give it a twist and combine it with something else. In the process, you make it your own. In this ArtiShock workshop, we’ll turn that process into a creative practice. Starting with existing materials, you’ll experiment with reuse and ‘sampling’: taking elements from different sources and bringing them together in a new way. What will you keep, what will you change, and what unexpected combinations might emerge?
Part of Fragments of Being
This workshop is part of Fragments of Being, the exhibition and programme curated by student-resident Lola Abbas at VOX-POP. It explores how young people draw on cultural influences to shape and express their identities. Music, fashion and subcultures offer a sense of recognition and belonging, as well as material to experiment with. This workshop invites you to explore those ideas yourself: not just by looking, but by making.
More information about this programme will be announced soon.
