The festival will take place at different locations in Amsterdam. In VOX-POP, you can take part in the following activities:

19 April (14:00 - 15:00): ‘The Power of Water’ workshop

In this workshop, theater maker Dorothy Blokland will share some photos taken by children from Suriname capturing climate change in a sensory way. Blokland guides you through theater and writing exercises, to create meaningful texts that reflect each photo. This workshop is part of 'The Power of Water', a project that investigates the relationship between climate change and the trans-Atlantic route.

23 to 25 April : Salaxis I

Salaxis I imagines human life in a saline future. This exhibition showcases the collaborative efforts between students of the Textile and Architectural Design programmes at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and artist Müge Yılmaz. Over the past months, students have delved into the intricate realm of speculative research, exploring the critical impacts of sea levels rising and salinisation of soil. From cultivating salt-tolerant crops to exploring the speculative potential of salty water in a futuristic and science fiction based context, the exhibition offers unexpected perspectives on our relationship with the changing environment.

The exhibtion will be opened on 23 April (16:30 – 19:00) with the launch of the Climate Imaginaries at Sea zine #2. The exhibtion will remain open on 24 and 25 April between 9.00 and 17.00. Entree is free of charge.
