Anna Theunissen - Video artist
As a photographer Anna Theunissen combines candid portraits of her housemates, neighbors, and friends with her street observations. By blending the dynamics of street life with the individuals she encounters Anne create stories in which she seeks for the nuances that fail to characterise the dividing between private and public. The city serves as a stage for these chance encounters, where we meet each other in unforeseen and imaginative ways. In Anna's work, the people become characters in a world of fleeting connections and uncertain engagements.
Despite the lack of clarity in our relationships, we remain endlessly connected as these moments come together, fall apart, and fade away with time. Each instance sets the stage for the next unexpected meeting.
Mira Thompson - Literary performer
Mira Thompson (Amsterdam, 1993) is a singer, songwriter and performer. Informed by the tradition of vocal jazz, she is drawn to narrative song and strong poetic and visual elements within music. During her time at HKU Utrecht Conservatory, she developed a fascination for the different ways in which the voice can function as an embodied instrument. Whether written, spoken or sung, Mira wields language to evoke deep and buried feelings with an earnest yet witty approach. In 2019 she released her first EP Festina Lente. Since 2008 she has performed nationally at Mozaïek Theater, Frascati, Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons, among others, and has toured in Germany and France.
Imogen Mills - Moderator
Imogen Mills (1996) is studying Comparative Literature at the UvA. Her studies focus primarily on decolonial future perspectives in Dutch and English visual art and poetry. Occasionally she likes to make forays into themes of national identity and psychoanalysis. Last year she was part of the student program committee at VOX-POP. There she worked as a program producer on events and exhibitions about civility, creativity and speculative futurism.
