#6.1: Burgerlijkheid: (klein)geestig?
During this CLOSE UP, the theme of 'burgerlijkheid' was questioned. Together with Professor of Dutch History Remieg Aerts, lecturer in Cultural Sociology Marcel van den Haak, documentary filmmaker Lisa Bom and word artist Mees van Zanten, it explored the sense and nonsense of real bourgeois life.

#6.2: De Spelende Mens
When was the last time you climbed a tree? CLOSE UP #6.2 was all about play. During this creative evening together with Emeritus Professor of Cultural Philosophy René Boomkens, designer and art educator Isabella Giacomelli and performers Jill Kupers and Mariona Vinyes Ràfols, we all briefly became Homo Ludens, the playing man.

#6.3: Tussen Gek en Geniaal
The crazier, the better. That's how the art world often seems to work. But where is the line between crazy and genius? Together with filmmakers Astrid Ardagh and Margarita Kosareva, photographer Nanouk Prins and actor Moutaz Alhowari we talked about the thriling interaction between art, artist and audience.

#6.4: Opening ‘Speculative Futurism: Inverting the Archive
On Thursday the 1st of June the committee openend their exhibition: Specultive Futurism: Inverting the Archive ! During this night the artworks and their visions for the future were explored together with Junior Lecture Max Stolk and artist Celine Michieli.

Exhibition Speculative Futurism: Inverting the Archive
How do you look at the future? In a world in which capitalism seems all-encompassing, it can be difficult to imagine other futures than the dystopian image we seem to be headed towards. How do we turn this around? In the Speculative Futurism exhibition, makers and visitors are challenged to think about the future in a way that is radically different from the present. Through speculative storytelling, we can discover the power of radical future narratives together. How can we free ourselves from negative future-thinking, yet remain critical of the present?
